Think and Grow Rich Week 1 The Mastermind Group

We’ve Decided to Form a Mastermind Group!

Just about everyone has heard of the classic book “Think and Grow Rich”… well at least those who are serious about making money and are searching for worthwhile leadership and guidance. There’s hardly a self made entrepreneur or investor around in business today who doesn’t credit Napoleon Hill at least in part for some aspect of their success. And goodness knows how many people have plumbed its depths for insight and wisdom since it first appeared in 1937.

So no self-respecting student of wealth creation and the Law of Attraction should look any further than the pages of this celebrated book. There are many teachers, books and courses you can study but TAGR is the definitive work if you just get to grips with it, despite the somewhat challenging language!

As a Law of Attraction and Prosperity coach myself I not only recommend it to my students and clients but I also recognise what a valuable tool it is for ME on my journey to not only creating wealth but prosperity and abundance.

“The Thirteen Steps to Riches described in this book offer the shortest dependable philosophy of individual achievement ever presented for the benefit of the man or woman who is searching for a definite goal in life.” Yee ha!

As Napoleon Hill himself recommends:

“Before beginning the book you will profit greatly if you recognize the fact that the book was not written to entertain. You cannot digest the contents properly in a week or a month. “ And so you need to plan to give your self some time to really digest its contents.

After reading the book thoroughly, Dr. Miller Reese Hutchison, nationally known Consulting Engineer and long-time associate of Thomas A. Edison, said–

“This is not a novel. It is a textbook on individual achievement that came directly from the experiences of hundreds of America’s most successful men. It should be studied, digested, and meditated upon.

No more than one chapter should be read in a single night. (Check)

The reader should underline the sentences that impress him most. (Check)

Later, he should go back to these marked lines and read them again. (Check)

A real student will not merely read this book; he will absorb its contents and make them his own. (Check)

This book should be adopted by all high schools and no boy or girl should be permitted to graduate without having satisfactorily passed an examination on it. This philosophy will not take the place of the subjects taught in schools, but it will enable one to organize and apply the knowledge acquired, and convert it into useful service and adequate compensation without waste of time.”

Wow! Isn’t that a novel concept? Imagine what your world would look like right now if you had enjoyed financial training when you were young rather than learning world history, geography and subjects you later found completely redundant.

“The author discovered, through personally analyzing hundreds of successful men, that all of them followed the habit of exchanging ideas, through what is commonly called conferences. When they had problems to be solved they sat down together and talked freely until they discovered, from their joint contribution of ideas, a plan that would serve their purpose.” And so a group of us have come together to mastermind Hill’s book just as he suggests below.

“You who read this book, will get most out of it by putting into practice the Master Mind principle described in the book.

This you can do (as others are doing so successfully) by forming a study club, consisting of any desired number of people who are friendly and harmonious. The club should have a meeting at regular periods, as often as once each week.”

Please don’t be put off by the length of this video… it is SUBLIME … As Hill says: “the only limitation os the one you set up in your own mind!”

So this is exactly what the 8 of us have agreed to do for the next 15 weeks! Hopefully we are friendly AND harmonious.

“The procedure should consist of reading one chapter of the book at each meeting, after which all members should freely discuss the contents of the chapter. Each member should make notes, putting down ALL IDEAS OF HIS OWN inspired by the discussion. Each member should carefully read and analyze each chapter several days prior to its open reading and joint discussion in the club.

By following this plan every reader will get from its pages, not only the sum total of the best knowledge organized from the experiences of hundreds of successful men, but more important by far, he will tap new sources of knowledge in his own mind as well as acquire knowledge of priceless value FROM EVERY OTHER PERSON PRESENT.

If you follow this plan persistently you will be almost certain to uncover and appropriate the secret formula by which Andrew Carnegie acquired his huge fortune, as referred to in the author’s introduction.”

So this is what we’re doing ~~

8 of us meet regularly on skype having read and explored a chapter each week. We then take it in turns to share our perspectives and our insights; and from this mastermind group, as Napoleon Hill recommends, we are all growing through identifying and coaching each other on how to put Think and Grow Rich’s incalculable wisdom into practice ~~ Plus holding each other accountable to DO WHATEVER IT TAKES!

Now my plan is to pass on our learnings and share the journey week by week so even though you’re not on the call, you can ‘look over our shoulder’ and reap the benefits; and I heartily recommend you get hold of a copy of Think and Grow Rich and follow along with us each week! If you don’t have one already you can download a copy here.

See you next week for Chapter 1: Thoughts are Things

The dynamic of our mastermind group is priceless! I hope that everyone who reads this post will seek out or create a mastermind group to work on Think and Grow Rich. It’s not even all about being rich! I told a client today that he should read the book because it could have been titled Think and Accomplish Whatever You Want, or Think and Reach Your Goals, or … you get what I mean. Great post, Sandhan. You really brought it all together here!

Wow Sandhan! You did a fabulous job of summarizing everything in this article! Thank you so much for taking the time to put all of this together.

I am very happy to be included in this wonderfully synergiztic mastermind group. It has been great already, and I can see that it will truly get better on every chapter and every call.

    With love & gratitude,
    Kellie :)

    Sandhan,
You’ve done an amazing job of highlighting all the aspects of the book that stand out.

I look forward to the insights I discover going through this book with all of you. The energy of everyone’s ideas is awesome. Thanks for being a part of that!

    Thank you ladies!
I had the idea today to interview everyone in the group as we progress through the chapters and highlight each member, if that sounds like something you would enJOY? Give you all some kudos and celebrity and add to getting your profiles raised..
The group would not be the same without you all!

    Sandhan,

I’m so glad to be a part of this as I truly see this as a turning point in our entrepreneurial endeavors. With two chapters down I already have a sense of purpose and belonging. The accountability part of our group is exactly what I needed. Thank you for bringing your expertise to the party.

    Sandhan,

Great post. I am blessed to be part of this group and excited about gleaning wisdom from you all. I have been through the book several times before, but never with a group like this. I expect great things to occur for each one of us!

    See you on the call!

    Blessings,

    John

What a great job, here, Sandhan!

Whatever manifests in our lives began as a thought, sometimes a subconscious one, sometimes a deliberate focused one. Either way, one the neuro-linking begins, it can’t be stopped! For better or for worse.

Sounds like you guys have a great group rolling along. Keep growing!

WE DO HAVE A MAGNIFICENT group going, David!
Perhaps we may allow people to sit in sometimes!! LOL
It already led to me running my very first webinar today for which I am very grateful to Ken and the boys for allowing me to step up!

Thoughts.. and then the voicing of them… certainly ARE things.

    Let’s get that house sold!!

Hi Sandham. I saw your comment on my blog and had to stop by. Think and Grow Rich is such a classic it is odd that it is not recommended reading in schools. Maybe you can make that come to fruition. I love the idea of a Think and Grow Rich mastermind group, actually I was in one many months ago, but I think you can pull it off better than they did.

Hey Hey Nicole.. i hoped you might come visiting!!
Hopefully we can cook up some magic together at some point before too long and do some co-creating!!
It would take some teachers to be able to help kids apply TAGR don’t you think… I’m all for changing a very flawed system.. my daughter attended a very progressive school but sadly TAGR wasn’t on the curriculum there either as most of the teachers were penniless hippies in pretty much Poverty Consciousness despite great hearts!

Keep tuned for our mastermind journey… I am very behind with my weekly posts but anticipate a big surge this weekend especially if the wintry weather in Australia persists.
      Blessings and love XX
